Fort Collins Counseling and Coaching: What is Tapping?

Today's Blog Post

We would like to recognize and share a DIY (do it yourself) technique.  Current research results are mixed, but there is enough evidence suggesting that it 'can't hurt, might help.'  Personally, we have been tapping for years and find it to be a helpful practice (i.e., part of our daily mindfulness routine).

Tapping, also known as Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), is a hybrid holistic healing technique.  The technique comes from principles of ancient Chinese acupressure and modern psychology.  It brings together the mind-body-spirit connection -- acknowledging and integrating the concept that physical pain, disease, and mental wellbeing are intricately connected to our emotional states.

As a stand alone practice or when added to other therapeutic techniques (e.g., PEMF, CBT, EMDR), it has been proven to facilitate treatment/management of many psychosocial issues.  You may experience the following benefits:

✳ Reset bio-functions, such as rapid heart rate

✳ Enhances management of PTSD symptoms
✳ Manage cravings, such as eating
✳ Reduce stress, anxiety, and fears
✳ Increase subjective wellbeing
✳ Build inner self-resilience
✳ Improved mind-body wellness
